The Milwaukee Bucks’ disappointing 2025-26 season has Giannis Antetokounmpo feeling some type of way.
Milwaukee was officially eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday with a blowout 127-95 loss to the San Antonio Spurs at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisc. The defeat means that the Bucks can no longer reach even the play-in tournament as they are now 9.5 games behind the Charlotte Hornets for No. 10 in the Eastern Conference with nine games left to play.
In the aftermath of the defeat, the Bucks star Antetokounmpo had a cryptic post to social media. Antetokounmpo shared a pair of photos of himself working out in the gym.
“Prayin’ for my downfall don’t make you religious,” Antetokounmpo wrote in the caption.
The former MVP Antetokounmpo, 31, did manage to average 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game this season for Milwaukee. But he was limited to just 36 games played due to various injuries and has now effectively been shut down for the season with a knee issue (a decision that has caused friction between Antetokounmpo and the Bucks).
Antetokounmpo has also been the subject of rampant trade rumors over at least the last year or so. With the Bucks now guaranteed to post their first losing season in a decade, the Antetokounmpo trade gossip will be back in full force this summer (something that even Milwaukee’s owner recently had to address).
