Gilbert Arenas was given some advice from Kobe Bryant a while back, and the former Washington Wizards star is ready to take it now in the wake of Kobe’s tragic death.

Arenas took to Instagram on Tuesday to say he is planning to finally heed Bryant’s advice by finding a coaching job rather than “being an idiot on social media.” Arenas also appeared to announce a clinic he will be holding at a high school in Van Nuys, Calif., for kids ranging from ages 5 to 15.

I will fulfill the task u requested from me in this picture You told me to use my bright basketball mind on some form of coaching on an nba/college bench or coaching kids stop wasting it being an idiot on social media….Today I'm starting my coaching career with @socalcavs 14u "the legacy of an assassins mind will live on" #mambamentality Location: Birmingham High School 17000 Haynes St, Van Nuys, CA 91406 Days: Every Tuesday and Thursday 5-11 years old | 6:00 – 8:00pm 12-15 years old | 7:00 – 9:00pm

Arenas played in the NBA during Kobe’s prime, so he got to witness the greatness first-hand. He actually recently told an awesome story about how Kobe supposedly got revenge on Michael Jordan by having a monster game against the Wizards when Arenas and MJ were teammates.

Arenas has helped train his own kids and LeBron James’ son Bronny, but it looks like Kobe’s death has now inspired him to take that to the next level.
