Mitch Kupchak appears to be on the verge of running another NBA team, as the former Los Angeles Lakers executive is reportedly getting closer to agreeing to a deal with the Charlotte Hornets.
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Hornets have formally offered their general manager job to Kupchak and are confident he will accept.

Kupchak has been considered the favorite for the position all along, though the Hornets reportedly sought permission to interview several other candidates. Kupchak, who helped build championship teams with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010, has by far the best resume of any person linked to the job.
Michael Jordan has been interested in Kupchak for several months now, and it sounds like the Hornets owner is going to get his guy.
