Joel Embiid has vulgar message for person who leaked team meeting story
The Philadelphia 76ers held a team meeting on Monday night to address their horrendous start to the season, and Joel Embiid is furious that we know about it.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Tuesday that 76ers veteran guard Kyle Lowry organized a team meeting the night before following Philadelphia’s loss to the Miami Heat. During the meeting, Tyrese Maxey called Embiid out and urged the former MVP to stop being late “for everything.”
The Sixers lost again on Wednesday night, this time in a tough 117-111 battle against the Memphis Grizzlies. Following that game, Embiid told reporters that the person who leaked word of Philly’s team meeting is “a real piece of s–.”
Embiid also said he had no problem with being called out by Maxey and felt the meeting was productive.
“I need to be better. I need to be perfect, I need to be on point, which I’m going to do,” Embiid said.
Among other things, Embiid took accountability for being late and told media that he plans to improve:
"I need to be better. I need to be perfect, I need to be on point, which I'm going to do," Embiid said

Embiid had his best game of the season in the loss to Memphis. He finished with 35 points and 11 rebounds and finally looked like himself, but the 76ers still lost their fifth straight game. They were just 2-12 on the season entering Thursday.
Injuries have been a big issue for Philly early on, and they now have a new one to deal with.
Then 76ers obviously have plenty of time to turn their season around, but things could not be going much worse for them at the moment.
