Kevin Durant was not in Houston to watch his Golden State Warriors eliminate the Rockets from the postseason without him, but he was watching on TV and knew how to celebrate.
Durant, who injured his calf in Game 5 on Wednesday night, posted a photo on Instagram Friday night that showed him celebrating the team’s win over the Rockets.

“Way to close out,” he captioned the photo.
Durant had been Golden State’s leading scorer throughout the postseason and was NBA Finals MVP the last two years. Some questioned how the team would respond to playing without him. They showed that they could get right back to their championship form even without Durant, coming through with some huge buckets late in the game to seal off the win.
Durant will be re-evaluated next week. The good news for Golden State is that they get some time off before the conference finals begin. They await the winner of Sunday’s Game 7 between the Nuggets and Trail Blazers.
