Kobe Bryant, Gerald Wallace discussed $500,000 bet for blind free throws during game? (Video)

Kobe Bryant and Gerald Wallace were seen talking while the Lakers star was at the free throw line during Tuesday’s Los Angeles Lakers-Brooklyn Nets game, and we later learned they were discussing a possible bet over Kobe shooting blind free throws.

Kobe could be seen saying to Wallace, “How much you want to put on it?”

It looked like Kobe muttered a number that involved a five, and he may have said “five hundred grand?” to Wallace.

Wallace confirmed after the 95-90 loss to LA that he was trying to get Kobe to shoot his free throws with his eyes closed.

“I was trying to get him to close his eyes to shoot. I had to make a big bet,” Wallace told the New York Daily News. “So I told him just shoot the free throws.”

“I tried to get him to make a contribution to my foundation … he didn’t want to take it,” Kobe told NBA TV. “I missed two, so I was trying to hustle him. He didn’t fall for it.”

If it weren’t such a close game, I bet Kobe would have done it. But that’s probably why Wallace was trying to goad him into doing it. Can’t wait to hear what David Stern thinks of all this.
