Mark Cuban ‘cautiously optimistic’ NBA can finish season without fans
The NBA continues to explore ways to potentially finish the 2019-20 season, and Mark Cuban remains confident that there is a path to doing that.
Cuban told CNN on Thursday morning that he is “cautiously optimistic” the NBA will complete its season. He expects games to be played without fans, however.

NBA officials and team owners have had regular discussions about ways to resume the season. Cuban was initially optimistic that playing games again in mid-May was a possibility, though he has since backed off that stance. It seems like a foregone conclusion at this point that any games that are played will not involve fans in the stands.
The NBA is reportedly considering some very interesting locations for games, and it’s clear no plan has been set in stone. One of the top infectious disease experts in the country says the resumption of sports is possible, but fans will not be part of the equation.
