Nuggets coach defends Jamal Murray over Lakers incident

Jamal Murray

Jamal Murray’s perceived antics against the Los Angeles Lakers over the weekend were just fine by his head coach.

Speaking with reporters before the Denver Nuggets played the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, Nuggets coach Mike Malone defended Murray over his incident with the Lakers at the end of their game on Friday.

“Jamal plays with emotion,” said Malone, per Harrison Wind of BSN Denver. “I thought he played well in that game and it was a big win for us. I didn’t have any issue with Jamal’s play or antics out there.”

Upon the conclusion of the 125-116 victory for Denver, Murray got cursed out by Lakers head coach Luke Walton for taunting and trash-talking during the game. Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball also was not pleased with his fellow guard.

In any case, the Lakers and the Nuggets will play each other again on Tuesday, this time in Los Angeles. It’s probably safe to say that the disrespect quotient will be pretty high on both sides for that one.
