Friday marked the waiver deadline for playoff eligibility.
Gasol was in the second season of a 3-year, $48.8 million deal he signed with the Spurs in the summer of 2017. His contract called for him to earn $16 million this season.
The 38-year-old was hardly playing for the Spurs and has only averaged 4.2 points and 4.7 rebounds in 12.2 minutes per game, playing in 27 contests this season. In Milwaukee, he’ll join the No. 1 team in the East and add some depth to a frontcourt that already includes Brook Lopez and Ersan Ilyasova.
