LeBron James is easily the most popular player in Cleveland Cavaliers history, but his standing with the franchise apparently is not enough to overcome a decrease in merchandise demand.
As Ben Axelrod of WKYC in Ohio noted on Monday, LeBron’s jerseys and other items at the Cavs’ official team store are already being discounted.

On the contrary, the demand for LeBron’s new Lakers jersey is said to already be completely off the charts.
Since LeBron fulfilled his promise by bringing the Cavs their first ever NBA championship, we probably won’t see as many angry reactions as there were the first time he left Cleveland. You get the sense that the vibe is a lot different this time after reading team owner Dan Gilbert’s statement, but the Cavs still have to unload all that LeBron gear before they move on next season.
