Embattled Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier will still be getting a massive payday this year, even though he almost certainly will not suit up for his team.
Rozier and the NBPA won an arbitration case against the NBA on Monday determining that the guard is entitled to his $26.6 million salary this season. The money had previously been held in escrow when the guard was placed on leave after becoming a target in a federal gambling probe. ESPN’s David Purdum reported that the arbitrator ruled that a player cannot be placed on unpaid leave unless accused of child abuse or domestic abuse.
Terry Rozier's salary, which had been held in escrow since December, will be released after an arbitrator ruled in favor of the embattled Miami Heat guard who is charged in a federal gambling probe, per sources.

Rozier was accused of faking an injury in a 2023 game to ensure that prop bets about his performance cashed for a group of co-conspirators. It was later revealed he was in significant debt at the time. He was arrested in October for his alleged involvement in the scheme, and has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy charges of wire fraud and money laundering.
The decision to withhold Rozier’s salary was made between the Heat and the NBA, but the NBPA challenged that decision. He remains on Miami’s roster, but has not played this season.
Rozier originally signed his contract in 2021 while still a member of the Charlotte Hornets. It is set to expire at the end of the current season.
