Rockets, Clippers reportedly among ‘most serious suitors’ for Andre Iguodala
The Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers have both made major moves this offseason in hopes of becoming the new powerhouse in the Western Conference, and they may not be done just yet.
Sam Amick of The Athletic reports that the Rockets and Clippers are two of the “most serious suitors” for Andre Iguodala. The veteran swingman is said to be Houston’s top priority now after they acquired Russell Westbrook on Thursday.
Iguodala, who was traded from the Golden State Warriors to the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this offseason, is drawing interest from several teams. There has been talk that the Grizzlies would buy him out before the season starts if they cannot find a suitable trade, but Marc Stein of the New York Times reports that they are intent on landing a first-round pick for the 35-year-old.
There is some belief within league circles that the Grizzlies are prepared to take Andre Iguodala into the season unless they receive a trade offer featuring a future first-round pick

Doesn"t mean they will get what they want, but it's a sensible position for the Grizzlies to take in July when they surely know a long list of contenders covet Iguodala if he can extricate himself from a rebuilding situation in Memphis

We know of at least one other team that has been trying to trade for Iguodala, and there’s no surprise he is being pursued so heavily. He’s one of the better defenders in the NBA and has won multiple championships. Teams looking for a veteran leader with playoff experience can’t do much better than Iguodala.
