Snoop Dogg tries to recruit Russell Westbrook to Lakers
Nick Young has already begun efforts to recruit potential free agents to Los Angeles, having already talked to Goran Dragic during a game and setting his sights on Marc Gasol as well. Next up on the list of people trying to convince top talent to wear the purple & gold is rapper Snoop Dogg.
Snoop posted the above photo of Russell Westbook photoshopped into a Lakers jersey on his Instagram account with the simple, yet emphatic, caption of “Come on home!!” Westbrook is, of course, from California and attended UCLA.
I would imagine, the 26-year-old’s MVP-winning performance during the All-Star Game may have caused Snoop to dream about Westbrook playing his home games at Staples Center. Although, Snoop probably had done that prior to Sunday.
Nevermind that the contract extension Westbrook signed back in 2012 doesn’t expire until 2017. It’s never too early to start the recruiting process. Carry on, Snoop.
