Spurs trade Boris Diaw to Jazz
The San Antonio days of His Elegancy Boris Diaw have drawn to a close.
According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical on Tuesday, the Spurs have traded Diaw to the Utah Jazz in exchange for the rights to Olivier Hanlan, the No. 42 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Diaw has 2 years and $13.5 million remaining on his deal, and shedding that contract will allow the Spurs to officially sign Pau Gasol.

Diaw was reportedly placed on the trading block on Monday, and it didn’t take very long for the Spurs to find a taker. With his flair for doing a little bit of everything on the basketball court, the 13-year veteran should provide cost-effective value off the Jazz bench next season. Still, it’s worth wondering how Diaw will perform now that he’s no longer in the perfect system for his talents.
