Fans all said the same thing about Suns All-Star’s career-worst performance

Several fans piled on Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal after arguably the worst performance of his NBA career.

The 3-time All-Star put up an absolute stinker on Friday in the Suns’ interconference clash against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden in Boston, Mass. Beal missed all seven of his shot attempts, scoring just one point after going 1/2 at the free throw line. It’s no surprise that Phoenix lost the game 123-103.

Fans roasted Beal on social media, with many pointing to the $50 million in salary the veteran is making this season. Many felt that a player earning that much money should never have one-point games against marquee teams like the Celtics, especially with the Suns’ postseason aspirations slipping away.

Friday’s matchup against the Celtics was Beal’s first after missing eight games due to a left hamstring strain. While he may have been feeling a little rusty, it’s hard to fathom how a player of his caliber scored just one point over a full game.

The Suns desperately needed Beal’s scoring given that Kevin Durant was not in the lineup due to an ankle injury he suffered last month. The kept Phoenix two games back of the Sacramento Kings for the final play-in spot in the Western Conference.

This season, Beal is averaging just 17.0 points through 49 games played — the lowest mark since his rookie campaign 12 years ago.

Beal recently angered several Suns fans over his controversial comments about what keeps him “smiling every day.” His performance on the court Friday likely did not do him any favors either.
