Luka Doncic has basically become Wile E. Coyote at this point.
Prior to tip-off of Wednesday’s Game 5 between the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder, a wild graphic about the Dallas star Doncic went viral. TNT aired a comprehensive list of the various ailments that Doncic has been battling through this postseason. The lengthy list, which included a right knee sprain, left knee soreness, back soreness, and left Achilles soreness, quickly made the rounds online.

To his credit, Doncic is a gamer and has yet to miss any time in the playoffs despite his laundry list of injuries. He is still playing over 40 minutes per night and averaging a strong 22-11-8 line in the series against the Thunder. But it is in the efficiency where Doncic’s physical woes become apparent. In four games so far against OKC, Doncic has brutal 39/31/68 shooting splits.
With help from the likes of Kyrie Irving, PJ Washington, and others, the Mavs still find themselves in a strong position to advance to the conference finals (the series is currently tied 2-2). But with a game to play almost every other day and Dallas not even halfway to a championship yet, the wear-and-tear may catch up to Doncic before long. At least Doncic is generally keeping a good sense of humor about his ailments.
