Trae Young has minor ankle injury, will not need MRI
Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young left Tuesday night’s game against the Miami Heat with an ankle injury, but fortunately it is not one that is expected to keep him sidelined for any significant amount of time.
Young’s injury is so minor that he does not need an MRI and could return as soon as next week, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Good news for Atlanta guard Trae Young, per sources: Improvement on his right ankle today. No plans for an MRI. He could return as soon as next week.

Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports added that Young did not experience much swelling and probably would not have to miss any time if the injury occurred during the playoffs.
That’s obviously a huge relief for the Hawks, as the injury looked like it had the potential to be pretty severe when it happened.
Young had five points in 11 minutes before exiting. The 21-year-old out of Oklahoma was the No. 5 pick in the draft last year and a player the Hawks believed in as a cornerstone — preferring him to Luka Doncic. He averaged 34 points per game in his first three games of the season and has been off to a hot start for the 2-1 Hawks.
