Tyronn Lue offering Kevin Garnett a spot on Cavs coaching staff
If Kevin Garnett is looking for a way to occupy his time now that he’s retired, his good buddy Tyronn Lue has something in mind.
Lue said on Thursday that he’ll open up a spot on the Cleveland Cavaliers coaching staff if Garnett wants it, per Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal. While Garnett’s wife is apparently pushing for him to take it, Garnett himself is said to be undecided on the offer.

Garnett, 40, announced his retirement from the NBA earlier this month after a magnificent 21-year career. Lue, who is actually a year younger than Garnett, coached the 15-time All-Star for four years in Boston as an assistant on Doc Rivers’ staff from 2009 to 2013.
The Big Ticket’s unparalleled passion for the sport is well documented, and he effectively made the transition into a wise basketball guru in his latter years as a player. While Lue may have to fight off Rivers himself in order to secure Garnett’s services, a standing offer to join the defending champs as an assistant coach has to be mighty difficult to turn down.
