Hayden Panettiere-Wladimir Klitschko wedding plans on hold

Hayden Panettiere and Wladimir Klitschko have been engaged for nearly two years but still are not married. Though all seems to be going well in their relationship, the ongoing conflicts between Russia and the Ukraine have their wedding plans on hold, the actress says.

Panettiere did an interview with Parade and was asked about their wedding plans:

You’re engaged to Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko; what’s the latest on your wedding plans?
Everything that’s happening in Ukraine definitely put a hold on things. But we have time.

Panettiere and Klitschko met in 2009 and began dating shortly thereafter. They broke up in 2011 and got back together in 2013 (after enduring some wild Mark Sanchez rumors among other things). After getting back together, they got engaged and had a baby together last year.

Though there is always time to get married, there are daily developments in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Wlad’s older brother Vitali is the mayor of Kiev and a leading politician in their home country of the Ukraine, meaning he wouldn’t have a whole lot of time to participate in rehearsal dinners and fittings for his role as a likely best man.
