Manny Pacquiao: Same-sex marriage makes us worse than animals
Mannny Pacquiao is running for a Senate seat in the Philippines, and the boxing star is hoping the majority of voters agree with his incredibly harsh stance against same-sex marriage.
In a recent interview in his native land, Pacquiao said that allowing men to marry other men or women to marry other women would make human beings less civilized than animals.
“It’s common sense. Do you see any animals that go male to male, or female to female?” Pacquiao asked, as translated by Bloody Elbow. “So the animals are even better (than humans). Because they know how to distinguish from male to male or female to female. Right? Now if we allow male to male or female to female, then that makes us worse than animals.”
While incredibly barbaric, Pacquiao’s take is not exactly a surprise. He is an incredibly religious man who also spoke out against Barack Obama’s stance on gay marriage several years ago. If you remember, that stance made Pacquiao persona non grata in at least one area of Los Angeles.
Pacquiao issued an apology on Twitter after his most recent comments went viral:
I'm sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I've hurt. God Bless! pic.twitter.com/bqjRcWqp8R

Shortly after Pacquiao ripped same-sex marriage back in 2012, Floyd Mayweather Jr. took a stand for the other side.
