A very good dog stole the show during a college baseball game between Arizona and Utah on Saturday.
Arizona infielder Mason White hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning of Saturday’s game, but the real story was the dog that just happened to be milling about beyond the left field fence. The dog quickly went into fetch mode, and once it got a hold of the home run ball, it was not in the mood to give it back.

That’s a dog that’s just doing its job. It may have a future as a minor league bat dog, but it would have to learn when to give up whatever it fetches. Maybe Joe Ryan can be brought in for some training exercises.
That was White’s second home run of the game. As far as we know, however, it was the only one that was retrieved by a dog.
