The head coach of the Florida baseball team has been accused of bullying by a rival coach.
On Monday, video emerged of Florida’s Kevin O’Sullivan angrily berating NCAA Tournament staff after the Gators’ scheduled game against East Carolina was pushed back by an hour. The move was made because East Carolina’s game had ran late the night before, and officials did not want to force them into a noon first pitch when their last game had ended roughly 12 hours earlier.
O’Sullivan could be heard telling officials that the decision was “f—ing bulls–t” and complaining in profane terms about the change in schedule.

After the game, an 11-4 Florida loss, O’Sullivan declined to apologize for the incident, saying he felt he had handled it properly. At that point, video had not yet emerged of the confrontation.
Coastal Carolina baseball coach Kevin Schnall was not on board with O’Sullivan’s actions. Coastal Carolina was the host school for the Conway regional, and Schnall felt the need to stick up for the school administrators that O’Sullivan had berated.
“What transpired this morning on our field, another coach disrespected our associate AD, who works as hard as anybody in our entire program. He disrespected our field crew, who are the salt of the earth. These guys would do anything for our program,” Schnall said. “It’s not okay, and this needs to be brought up. Absolutely disrespectful.
“As a coach, it’s our job to mentor young kids. The way he treated the two site reps, the way he treated our associate AD, the way he treated our field crew is absolutely unacceptable. That’s what I’m most disappointed about. This is a national champion coach who thinks he can come in here and try to bully people around. Somebody that a lot of coaches look up to, for him to act that way, really disappointed. He disrespected a Hall of Fame coach who’s the site rep here.”

O’Sullivan has been Florida’s head baseball coach since 2008. He led the school to its first-ever College World Series title in 2017, and is the winningest coach in program history.
Florida’s loss eliminated them from the NCAA Tournament and ensured that Coastal Carolina would move on to the Super Regional.
