On Monday morning, a report came out that Holloway had been arrested and charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp.
Now, Holloway has been removed from campus, and he will be away from the program until the UA Office of Student Conduct goes through the investigation process.
Holloway is a junior who spent his first season at Auburn, but he is the second-leading scorer for the Crimson Tide with 16.8 PPG.
Alabama faced all kinds of adversity this year due to injuries and then the situation with former G League player Charles Bediako, who wound up being ruled ineligible after playing five games for the Crimson Tide.
Alabama finished with a 23-9 record but suffered an ugly loss to Ole Miss on Friday in the SEC Tournament. Alabama then earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Alabama will face No. 13 seed Hofstra on Friday at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., but all signs point to Holloway not being with the team for the foreseeable future.
