Butler was motivated by slight from CBS Sports
Butler took it to Middle Tennessee State on Saturday to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, and they apparently had some extra motivation.
Butler head coach Chris Holtmann said he saw lots of talk even from CBS Sports about how Middle Tennessee State was the better team, which got him upset.
Butler coach Chris Holtmann said it "burned me up" to see CBS Sports Net guys saying Butler didn't have good enough players to beat MTSU.

Butler coach Chris Holtmann: "I was reading what people were saying. I had a friend send me a CBS clip saying we weren't good enough."

The game turned out to be the other way around as Butler was by far the best team on the floor. The Bulldogs won the game 74-65 and never once trailed. They shot 51.1 percent from the floor and an even more impressive 53.3 percent on threes. Meanwhile, three Blue Raiders starters went scoreless, including team star Giddy Potts, who was 0-for-8 in the game.
Maybe Holtmann will hope the media slights his team in their Sweet 16 game.
