Chris Webber has had a tumultuous relationship with his alma mater, but he made it clear ahead of Monday night’s national championship game that he was cheering for Michigan.
Webber, who serves as an analyst for Turner Sports, tweeted “GO BLUE!” ahead of Michigan’s title game against Villanova.

The support from Webber is big. He had a 10-year disassociation from the Wolverines that ended in 2013, which was part of the fallout from the scandal involving former program booster Ed Martin. Webber was facing five charges, including obstruction of justice and lying to a federal grand jury about his relationship with Martin. He ended up pleading guilty to criminal contempt.
Webber’s behavior led to some friction between him and other fellow members of the Fab Five.
