Coach K furious about ‘amazing’ no-call at end of Syracuse loss
Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski felt that his team got cheated in a heartbreaking 64-62 loss Monday night, and he made his feelings known after the game with one of the most passive-aggressive rants you will ever see.
During his postgame press conference, Coach K described the final play of the game as “amazing” nine times.
“It was an amazing ending,” he said. “The last play was amazing. Have you seen it? Go see it. It’s literally amazing. It’s amazing basketball, let’s put it that way.”
Krzyzewski was incensed that junior guard Matt Jones did not get a foul call on this play, which would have put him at the free throw line with a chance to win the game:

Coach K went on to compare the non-call to one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
“When you see something like an unbelievable beauty, like one of the Wonders of the World, it’s unbelievable,” he said. “And that’s what makes it amazing.”
Jones probably was fouled, but very few officials are willing to put a player at the line with no time remaining in a two-point game. Someone would have had to have tackled him for the whistle to blow.
As for the rant, that was pretty out of character for Coach K. It was also strange to see him snub Syracuse players in the handshake line (video here), but that was about as angry as we’ve seen the Hall of Famer following Duke’s third consecutive loss.
