One fan brought a great poster to the national championship game between UConn and South Carolina at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla., on Sunday.
The fan was holding up a sign that read: “I guarded Paige in HS and she cooked me!”
The poster even included some photographic evidence of the fan matched up against Bueckers.

Bueckers attended Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minn., and became the No. 1 high school recruit there. The fan apparently played against Bueckers in a tournament when Bueckers was in 8th grade and playing on the high school varsity team.

Bueckers has been a legend in the women’s basketball world for a while. One journalist said in 2013 that Bueckers was Diana Taurasi-like. He turned out to be right.

Bueckers entered Sunday’s game averaging 20.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.2 steals per game this season for UConn.
