Rui Hachimura gets bloody nose after elbow to face

Rui Hachimura

Rui Hachimura was treated for a bloody nose late in the first half of Gonzaga’s Sweet 16 game against Florida State on Thursday night.

Seminoles guard MJ Walker made a layup with 3:51 left in the first half and bumped into Hachimura as he was headed to play defense on the other end. Walker raised his elbow and nailed Hachimura in the face, giving him a bloody nose.

Walker was called for a foul for incidental contact but nothing more. Hachimura had some cotton stuffed up his nose to absorb the blood and he was able to continue playing.

The Gonzaga star had 10 points in the first half, including a bucket after being popped in the nose. Gonzaga went into halftime up 38-27.
