Tony Parker was feeling himself after his 28-point, 12-rebound performance against UAB on Saturday at the NCAA Tournament and even decided to zing his coach.
During UCLA’s postgame media conference, Parker, who was sitting next do Bryce Alford and head coach Steve Alford, was asked about Bryce’s passing (Bryce posted 22 points and five assists).
“(Bryce) has that in his game. Coach Alford didn’t pass much so I think Bryce focuses on being a better passer than him,” Parker said via The Daggers. “That’s big time for us. He passed the ball really, really well for us today.”

Alford now has a 27-point game and 22-point game for the Bruins, who have reached the Sweet 16 after being criticized for being admitted into the tournament, so credit to him for playing well.
As for Parker’s zinger, he’s actually incorrect about his information; Steve Alford is 11th all time in Indiana career assists, in addition to being their second-leading scorer. But this really was all about Parker trying to make a name for himself. He even did so by floating a line at CBS reporter Allie LaForce:
Here’s the bracelet:

Parker is clearly enjoying the spotlight. Maybe a little too much.
