One of Duke’s one-and-done players will actually be back for year two.

This is a pretty big deal, as Jones could have potentially been a first-round pick had he elected to go pro. Ultimately, however, while renowned for his defensive skills, his shooting has been a huge issue. That especially became true in the NCAA Tournament. He went 5-of-7 from three-point range against Virginia Tech, but in Duke’s other three tournament games, he went a combined 1-for-11, finishing the season with a three-point percentage barely over 26 percent. It got so bad that opposing defenders were essentially daring him to shoot the three.
Jones hinted recently that a sophomore season may be on his agenda. He’s decided to go through with it, and if he can improve his shot, he could be a lottery pick next season.
