Arch Manning likes to study film in order to improve, and there are two NFL quarterbacks whom he watches.

Manning spoke with reporters on Friday from the annual Manning Passing Academy in Thibodaux, Louisiana. He was asked by reporter Cory Mose which players he models his game after. Manning said that Josh Allen and Joe Burrow are the two players

“I’m watching a lot of Josh Allen and Joe Burrow right now. Those are my guys,” Manning said.

Manning explained why he likes those quarterbacks.

“Because they’re dogs. I’m watching some of their college film right now. Just good players, elite competitors. Fun to watch,” Manning said.

I asked Arch Manning who he models his game after, he named two pros…

Allen and Burrow are two of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. Allen has made three Pro Bowls and is the reigning NFL MVP. Burrow is a two-time Pro Bowl QB and led the NFL in completions (460), passing yards (4,918) and passing touchdowns (43) last season. Burrow was also a star in college at LSU after transferring there from Ohio State. He completed an absurd 76.3 percent of his passes in 2019 and passed for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns. Few quarterbacks have a better passing highlight reel from college than him.

Allen played three seasons in college at Wyoming and had a standout season in 2016. He passed for 3,203 yards and 28 touchdowns, plus he rushed for 523 yards and 7 touchdowns that year.

Given his ability to run the ball and create plays with his legs, Allen might be a more apt comparison to Manning’s game. Arch saw action in 10 games last season as a redshirt freshman. He passed for 939 yards, 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, while rushing for 108 yards and 4 touchdowns. One legendary coach indicated recently he is not buying the hype surrounding the Texas Longhorns quarterback.
