Cardale Jones’ roommate Tyvis Powell glad the rent will still be paid
Cardale Jones announced on Thursday that he is returning to Ohio State for his junior season, and no one was more relieved than his roommate.
Before Jones held his press conference, Buckeyes safety Tyvis Powell seemed like he was getting concerned that he was going to have to pay the rent all by myself.
“Whether 12 go or stay, rent is still due on the 1st and I’m gone have my half!” Powell tweeted.
After Jones made his decision (in incredibly bizarre fashion), Powell felt he could breathe easier.
“The rent is SAFE!!!” he wrote. “I thought 12 was gone pull a Kyrie Irving.”
We’re pretty sure football players who are on scholarship receive a check for housing, especially at a school like Ohio State. Still, Powell’s reaction was pretty funny. While we were all sitting here wondering what Jones’ decision means for the Buckeyes and the NFL Draft, Powell was just worried about paying the bills.
