Fans seen wearing ‘Sandusky is innocent’ T-shirts
Penn State honoring Joe Paterno on Saturday was one thing, but these T-shirts worn by some fans is much much worse.
Two fans were photographed in a picture that went viral on Twitter Saturday wearing shirts that said “JoePa was railroaded” on the front and “Sandusky is innocent” on the back.

Details surrounding the photo are lacking. Regardless of whether the shirts were worn in jest or in sincerity, their message shows incredibly poor judgment in any capacity.
Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts related to his serial sexual abuse of children and is serving 30-60 years in prison. His sexual abuse of children may have gone as early as 1971, which is when one victim supposedly told Paterno about it. Support for Paterno is also considered to be in poor taste as many believe the former Nittany Lions head coach allowed the abuse to go on for years in order to protect his prized football program.
Penn State honored Paterno Saturday by commemorating the 50th anniversary of his first game as the program’s head coach.
