Florida QB Feleipe Franks defends himself for shushing fans
Feleipe Franks pulled off something unusual Saturday and defended himself for his actions.
The Gators quarterback shushed the home fans for booing him earlier in the team’s 35-31 win over South Carolina. He did so after scoring on both of his rushing touchdowns.
Not too often you see a guy shush his own fans.

When players shush a crowd, it’s usually the opponents rather than the home crowd. But Franks, who expected to be booed entering the game, did it the other way around.
After the game, the sophomore defended himself.

“I’m a super emotional player,” Franks said. “That what makes it a two-way street. Lots of people are going to like me and lots of people aren’t going to like me. Maybe that’s something I shouldn’t have did. But at the same time, I’m an emotional player. I want to win as much as anybody in the world. I’m an emotional guy. That’s the way I play my game. I do apologize for that.”
Franks got benched in last weekend’s loss to Missouri and only was guaranteed to get his job back after Kyle Trask injured his foot in practice. Though the team started off slowly, they came back and did enough to get the win.
