James Franklin signs six-year extension with Penn State
Despite consistent rumors linking him with jobs elsewhere, James Franklin is staying at Penn State.
On Friday, the school’s Board of Trustees approved a six-year contract extension for Franklin, tying him to the school through 2025.

This contract should put to bed some significant coaching rumors. There was some chatter linking him to the vacant position at Florida State, and he had also been suggested as a possibility at USC, a job which never opened up. Both of those are now off the table for the foreseeable future.
Franklin, a Pennsylvania native, is 55-23 as Penn State’s head coach. 2019 marked his third season with ten or more wins as coach of the Nittany Lions.
