
Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson issued a statement after Saturday’s win over BC to clarify what many interpreted as a throat slash.
After scoring on a 53-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, Jackson was celebrating in the end zone, turned to a teammate, and dragged his thumb across his throat.
Many thought that was a throat slash by Jackson, which is a move that is frowned upon by sports leagues.

Following the game, Jackson sent this statement which says the gesture was a “zip it” move he and his teammates do:
