Lane Kiffin’s FAU team breaks out with record-setting game
Lane Kiffin and his FAU Owls are proving to be a problem for their Conference USA opponents.
Kiffin’s Owls lit up the scoreboard with school-record 69 points in a win over North Texas on Saturday. Perhaps even more impressively, they put up a conference-record 804 yards in the game.
Quarterback Jason Driskel passed for 357 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for a score. The Owls had seven rushing touchdowns in the game, including three from Devin Singletary, who ran for 123 yards on 17 carries.
FAU has now won three games in a row to improve to 4-3 and 3-0 in conference play. The Sun Sentinel says the team is over .500 during the second half of the season for the first time since 2008. FAU also has consecutive 50-plus point games.
