Lincoln Riley does not see himself leaving Oklahoma for NFL

Lincoln Riley

The NFL wants to know what Lincoln Riley is doing at Oklahoma, and he’s happy to enlighten them. Taking his skills to the NFL himself, though, is another story.

Many in the NFL are taken by Riley’s offensive schemes, and he’s been contacted by NFL coaches wanting to talk shop. That raised the question of whether the Oklahoma coach would ever take a job there himself. The answer? Not right now, maybe never.

“Hard to say, it would be really difficult to ever leave this place,” Riley told Albert Breer of SI. “This place is very invested in me and my family. They gave me a great opportunity, and I think this is one of the best if not the very best job in all of football. So I don’t know. I really, really enjoy the college game. I don’t know that you can ever say never. I don’t know what the future will hold. But yeah … it’s hard to see myself ever leaving Oklahoma right now.”

Riley is only 34. He has a lot of time to change his mind, especially if plays he uses at Oklahoma keep turning up in the NFL.
