Mark Richt reportedly accepts Miami coaching job

Mark Richt

Mark Richt has reportedly agreed to become the next head coach at the University of Miami.

The news, which was first reported by Peter Ariz of CanesInSight.com, should be well received by Hurricanes fan. Richt is a proven coach with a track record of winning in the SEC. Miami is already a popular destination for top recruits, and Richt should make The U even more of a hotbed.

Richt had double-digit wins in nine of his 14 seasons as head coach of the Bulldogs. He kept his program competitive year in and year out in the best conference in college football. While he had other job opportunities available other than coaching football, we think Richt made a wise choice.

Mark Richt

Despite a disappointing 2015 season, the Hurricanes have a legitimate chance to once again become a powerhouse in the ACC. Richt is a great hire.
