Report: Shedeur Sanders may not be viewed as top QB in NFL Draft
Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has generally been viewed as the top quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class, but that may be changing.
ESPN’s Matt Miller shared his updated NFL Draft big board on Friday, and it contained an interesting nugget about Sanders. While Miller still rated Sanders as his QB1, he noted that “multiple scouts” view Miami’s Cam Ward as the top prospect at the position.
Miller pointed to Ward’s performances at Miami this season as sending him up draft boards quickly. Sanders has not necessarily hurt his stock, but Ward’s combination of passing ability and his threat as a runner have given NFL executives a lot to think about. The Washington State transfer has the Hurricanes unbeaten heading into play Saturday, with 2,538 passing yards and 24 passing touchdowns to go along with three scores on the ground. He has also drawn rave reviews from his coaches for both his play and his leadership.
To be clear, Sanders is still the No. 1 quarterback in the draft for many. However, there could be some additional noise around him, which could be a factor if teams are otherwise torn between him and Ward.
