UCF has no interest in the upcoming national championship game between Georgia and Alabama, because the best team in the country has already been crowned as far as the Knights are concerned.
To say that UCF has gone all-in on labeling itself “national champions” for 2017 would be an understatement. Now that they have capped off a perfect season with a win over Auburn, the Knights are planning to raise a championship banner and have a parade. They’re also doing something else that every sports champion does — taking a visit to see Mickey Mouse.

You have to admire what UCF is doing for all of its coaches, but all of this “national championship” hype is going to have to end at some point. While the Knights believe they deserved to be in the College Football Playoff, it’s unlikely anything they say or do will change the selection process going forward.
