Report: Wake Forest transfer QB Jamie Newman could land at Oregon
Oregon is about to have a big void at the quarterback position with Justin Herbert headed to the NFL, and they may be able to fill it with one of the breakout stars of the 2019 season.
Wake Forest quarterback Jamie Newman entered the transfer portal on Tuesday. The redshirt junior will be a graduate transfer, which means he is eligible to play for another program immediately. According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, Oregon is the early favorite to land Newman.

Newman is a dual-threat quarterback who threw for 2,868 yards, 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season. He added another 574 yards and six scores on the ground.
Oregon is ranked No. 6 in the country and will cap off its season in the Rose Bowl against Wisconsin on Wednesday, and Newman could give them an experienced option to immediately take the place of Herbert next year.
