Washington RB Myles Gaskin leaves game with shoulder injury
Washington star running back Myles Gaskin left Saturday’s game against Oregon with a shoulder injury.
Gaskin exited in the second quarter as the Huskies were taking on the Ducks in Eugene. He went into the medical tent on the sideline and took his shoulder pads off. Gaskin was later taken into the medical area of Oregon’s locker room rather than the visitor’s locker room, perhaps as a sign that he needed something that was only available in the home team’s area.
Gaskin began the second quarter as the team’s lead rusher before exiting on the team’s second possession of the quarter. He had 11 carries for 54 yards before getting hurt. Salvon Ahmed and Sean McGrew took carries for the Huskies after Gaskin left, with Ahmed scoring his second touchdown of the game following Gaskin’s exit.
Gaskin, a senior, entered Saturday’s game with 554 yards and five touchdowns on the season.
