Colin Kaepernick remains unsigned into the month of May, and one has to wonder how much that bothers him. Perhaps the answer is not as much as you might think.
The MMQB’s Peter King looked at Kaepernick’s current situation, and used his recent time spent with the San Francisco 49ers to add some context to the quarterback’s current interests. King spoke to some 49ers employees who believe that Kaepernick would rather be a full-time social justice activist than play quarterback in the NFL.
King notes that Kaepernick has engaged in various offseason projects, such as donating suits to parolees. Despite quarterbacking the Niners to a Super Bowl appearance four years ago, he has received very little interest from NFL teams.

There was some thinking that Kaepernick was prepared to sacrifice his career to focus on his activism. This offseason will do little to quiet those who are of that opinion.
