Ricky Pearsall continues to make remarkable progress less than six weeks after getting shot.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed to reporters on Friday that the rookie receiver Pearsall is set to have his practice window open in the coming days. Shanahan noted that Pearsall could likely begin practicing as early as Monday, which would allow for a potential return to action in the near future.

The 24-year-old Pearsall was San Francisco’s first-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft (No. 31 overall). But at the end of August, Pearsall got shot in the chest in a robbery attempt in Union Square, San Francisco by a suspect who was attempting to take his Rolex watch (details here). The teen suspect has since been charged with attempted murder.

Pearsall remarkably was physically present at practice less than a week after being shot. But now it seems he is about to graduate to full-contact practice activities, possibly in advance of a return in nine days versus Kansas City or in 16 days versus Dallas (before the 49ers go on their bye in Week 9).
