49ers reportedly expected to take time with Reuben Foster situation
The San Francisco 49ers are expected to take their time with the Reuben Foster case, according to a report.
Foster was arrested on Sunday on domestic violence and gun possession charges and booked into jail. The arrest was his second in a month as he was also picked up in Alabama for marijuana possession.
Given that Foster has now been arrested twice since the 49ers’ offseason began, and that the latest charges are of serious nature, the team is expected to take some time doing due diligence investigating the matter, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports. He also says the Niners met with Foster on Monday to hear his side of the story.
The team issued the following statement on Sunday night following Foster’s arrest: “The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the report regarding Reuben Foster. We take matters of this nature seriously and are gathering all pertinent information.”
Foster was a first-round pick by the team and believe in him as a player, so it makes sense that they will try to learn everything about the situation before making a decision on how to proceed. But between these two arrests as well as his draft combine shenanigans, the 49ers have to have serious concern.
