Adrian Peterson remains a free agent and his asking price is likely a bit high, but that does not mean teams are afraid the 32-year-old running back has nothing left in the tank.
According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, Peterson looked “explosive” during his workout with the New England Patriots last week. He then met with the Saints on Tuesday, and Werder speculates that Peterson could wind up in New Orleans.
Adrian Peterson impressed #Patriots, appearing fast, explosive in workout. Possible #Saints seek to sign him before draft if money right.

There are plenty of risks that would come along with signing Peterson, the most notable of which are his age and injury history. Some teams will also shy away because of the child abuse scandal Peterson was involved in that resulted in him missing nearly all of the 2014 season.
Peterson averaged just 1.8 yards per carry in the three games he played in last season. Reports like this one are probably being planted by his agent, otherwise he would have been signed by now.
