Antonio Brown already hinting at trying to return to NFL this season

Antonio Brown

It has been less than a week since Antonio Brown claimed he is done playing football as part of one of his infamous social media rants, but apparently the star receiver has already changed his mind.

On Thursday, Brown sent some tweets that clearly indicated he plans to continue playing football. He even responded to one follower who said he should try to sign with his fourth team in the past year.

The odds of Brown playing again in 2019 seem very slim. For starters, most — if not all — teams would be hesitant to sign him until there’s some clarity with all the allegations against him. Brown is facing a sexual assault lawsuit in addition to sexual misconduct allegations from a separate woman. He sent some text messages recently to the second alleged victim that could be interpreted as intimidating in nature, and those are likely the main reason the New England Patriots released him just 11 days after signing him.

Brown’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said this week that he believes Brown wants to continue his NFL career, but there’s still a strong possibility Brown could be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list. The fact that the NFL is delaying in making that move has led to speculation that the league is trying to discourage teams from signing Brown, so he is facing plenty of obstacles.
