Browns’ Jerry Jeudy delivers 2-word message that will fire up Ravens players

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy gave the Baltimore Ravens some bulletin-board material ahead of Sunday’s game between the two AFC North rivals.

Jeudy met with the media after Browns practice on Wednesday and discussed how the team is preparing for its upcoming matchup with the Ravens. A reporter asked Jeudy about the types of challenges Baltimore’s secondary will present for him and Cleveland’s passing attack.

The reporter likely expected Jeudy to praise the Ravens’ defensive backfield, but Jeudy apparently does not think very highly of the unit. He gave a surprising two-word response.

“No challenges,” Jeudy said bluntly.

Question to Browns WR Jerry Jeudy: What challenges do the Ravens secondary present?

Jeudy: “No challenges.”

In fairness to Jeudy, Baltimore’s secondary did not look great in Week 1. They allowed Josh Allen to throw for 394 yards, which was a big reason the Ravens collapsed down the stretch in their 41-40 loss.

The Ravens also allowed 244.1 passing yards per game last season, which was the second-worst mark in the NFL. Jeudy is likely aware of that as well.

Baltimore has a quality group of defensive backs headlined by Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey and Jaire Alexander. Jeudy has averaged 5 catches and 69 yards per game across three games against the Ravens in his career.

Even if Jeudy expects to find plenty of room against the Ravens’ secondary, calling them out publicly will only serve as motivation. He may now have to work a bit harder to find open space on Sunday.
