Report: Browns suspending DB K’Waun Williams
The Cleveland Browns reportedly are suspending nickleback K’Waun Williams for two weeks in response to the DB’s absence from the team’s training camp since Friday.
According to Cleveland.com, Williams hurt his ankle in the team’s Orange and Brown scrimmage and decided he was not healthy enough to play in the team’s first preseason game last Friday against the Packers. Williams scratched himself from the game, and the team listed his absence as being due to personal reasons.
Williams apparently has not returned to training camp in Berea, Ohio, since scratching himself from the lineup. He reportedly has gotten a second opinion on his ankle from a medical professional in North Carolina.
In the meantime, the Browns are suspending Williams, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Browns head coach Hue Jackson did not allow much when asked about Williams Tuesday.
“We’ll talk about that at a different time,” Jackson said via Cleveland.com. “I just think there are a lot of mixed messages that are going on as far as all that’s concerned. We’ll deal with it, and I’m sure we’ll all talk about it at the appropriate time.”
Williams posted 39 tackles, a sack and three forced fumbles last season. He’s entering his third season in the league after going undrafted out of Pitt.
